Simon Cowell has made a new year resolution and promised to try and quit smoking when his son is born, but admitted while he has tried using ''electronic cigarettes'', he feels simply cutting down on his habit is the best way forward.
Simon Cowell will try to quit smoking around his baby son.
The media mogul's girlfriend Lauren Silverman is pregnant with their first child, and he has no intention of lighting up a cigarette in front of their offspring, and plans to cut down on his habit.
According to reports
When asked by LBC 97.3 radio if he'll smoke in front of his son, he said: ''No, I won't do that, I've learnt that.
''I'm trying to do electronic cigarettes, they're not bad. But moderation would be better.''
The 'X Factor' boss had previously insisted while he wouldn't kick the habit for good, he was already looking at ways to make his home baby-proof so he can raise his son in the best possible environment.
Recently talking about the changes he'll have to make Simon, 54, noted he will have a dedicated ''smoking room'', while hiding away his booze and cigarettes.
He said: ''There are a lot of boring things that happen when you have a baby.
''You have to get rid of sharp edges, cigarettes, alcohol ... then there's the toilet to make safe. But I'll have a smoking room!''
