Microsoft Announces “Something Awesome” For Windows Users

Microsoft plans something big for Windows users and this is evident in recent teasers. However, no one really knows what exactly what this big announcement is going to be. The upcoming BUILD 2016 developer conference is just around the corner and the company has announced “something awesome” in its agenda. This is even coming up on the first day of the event.

The event page is even discreet as no information is provided but there are speculations already based on previous teasers.
Earlier this month, Rich Turner, Senior Program Manager on the Windows team said said in a deleted tweet:
Finally getting to play with new #Windows10 features. You are all gonna FREAK OUT when you see this 😁
On the following day, Scott Hanselman, Principal Program Manager and Community Architect on the Azure Application Platform and Tools group also said in another deleted tweet:
These features (I know what this is because I’m helping) are going to CHANGE EVERYTHING. No joke. You can’t even.
There are speculations Microsoft might be bringing back Project Astoria. The abandoned project was supposed to allow Windows natively support Android apps but was ditched in favor of the iOS bridge Project Islandwood. We dug into details and of the the speakers of the event is Russ Alexander who worked as the lead developer for Project Astoria.
We won’t have to wait any longer as the date is already here. If Microsoft is so excited about this, perhaps we should be looking forward to a game-changing feature. Running Android apps on Windows might make a lot of people start looking at Microsoft differently.
