Nigerians, prepare to be shocked by 3 Buhari's revelations

Nigeria is getting ready to celebrate the Democracy Day and one year since swearing-in of the Buhari administration on Sunday, May 29.  The leader of Nigeria is expected to make several breaking statements in his speech that marks his first anniversary of presidency.  DPA BLOG gathered three possible shocking revelations the Nigerian leader might make on Sunday.

1. One of the serving ministers is investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as per Buhari’s order Saturday Tribune made the prediction based on information obtained from a source close to the presidency. The probe of the minister is connected with how he ran finances of his state when he was a governor. We wonder who could it be?!

2. One PDP’s governor and one APC’s governor are being probed Two serving governors are being probed based on petitions alleging ‘sundry infractions’ to public funds, an EFCC source told the Nigerian Tribune.

One of the governors is suspected of mishandling local government funds. His colleague is implicated with regards to misappropriation of security funds.

3. Recovered loot

President Buhari is expected to give an update of the looted funds recovered so far. Though it is not clear whether the exact figure will be announced or not, it is obvious that the focus will be on the money recovered from ex government officials, contractors and military officers. It would be noted that the National Prosecution Coordination Committee was inaugurated by the Buhari administration on Friday, May 27, 2016. The president emphasised that he does not interfere with operations of the EFCC, noted that all the anti-corruption agencies of the country operate independently from him.
