#FreeIGWala| THE COUNTINUING DETENTION OF IG WALA: A SUICIDE ON THE ANTI-GRAFT WAR

Comrade Ibrahim Garba Wala is a hero not a traitor.
We call on President Mohammadu Buhari to mandate the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to release Ibrahim Garba Wala, a whistleblower who acted solely in the public interest.

We, as a people wish to condemn at the strongest term the unlawful arrest and the continuing detention of one Anti-graft activist called Mr Ibrahim Garba Wala popularly known as IG Wala arrested by the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) at the instance of IGP Ibrahim Idris.
The unlawful arrest and detention of an Anti-corruption activist without any iota of doubt is one of the political suicide committed by the Nigeria Police. Being an activist, we were reliably informed that he is one of the ardent supporters of the present President Buhari led administration and he contributed immensely to the success of the Government in the 2015 presidential election.
We wish to emphatically remind the government that "No Nigerian is more Nigerian than any Nigerian" IG Wala should be a major partner of the Anti corruption agency in Nigeria and not for him to be condemned like a criminal.
We therefore come together as a people to demand justice and Freedom for Mr. Ibrahim Garba Wala and ask the government to stop future intention of forceful and unlawful arrest of innocent citizens.
We are citizens and We should not be intimidated by the government machinery or by a government who acquired high positions by the mandates of the people.
We wish to categorically without any fear of contradiction express that the Nigeria Police Force cannot fight the goodwill of the people and should not wage war against its citizens especially the activists and to take note that Mr. Ibrahim Garba Wala commit no offence under our constitutional democratic set up, even if he does, the court should decide that hence, we demand his release forthwith and unconditionally.

We are law abiding citizens and we believe in peaceful resolution in dealing with Civil issue yet, we are not afraid of hitting the street and peacefully fight for our shared humanity.

The Nigeria Police Force is by this statement ordered to release comrade IG Wala with immediate effect or charge him to court.
