The founder/National Director of The Counsellor Organisation and the convener of #Project11 who is also a Peace advocate, Angela Uyi has come for Aung San Suu Kyi.
In a brief Facebook post, she says "We must keep on demanding for justice until equality becomes equal"
Read her statement after the cut....
What is happening to Rohingya Muslims is not different from the Enugu, Agatu, Southern Kaduna and the Taraba massacres. Government always wait for things to get out of control before reacting.
Over the Years we have repeatedly condemned the killings of innocent people around the country. We have also been calling for justice to the victims yet, the leaders are always silent to such injustice. We as a people must not stop demanding for equality.
We must not stop demanding for justice for the oppressed. We must call for justice until equality becomes equal.
We pray for the people of Rohingya and also call on Aung San Suu Kyi same woman the world is calling upon to condemn or speak against the genocide happening right before her seeing but would rather maintain silence.
Why can't she Stop the violence. There are lots of heartbreaking videos and pictures of small children killed by Myanmar’s security forces. These innocent children attacked no one, but still their homes were burned to the ground.
Aung San Suu Kyi has supreme qualities that can unite her country, to stop the violence and to end the preconception that enervates both Muslims and other communities in Rakhine.
Rohingya Muslim minority has faced years of being denigrated as outsiders by the Buddhist majority. They have over the Years been denied basic rights, stuck in miserable camps and subjected to harsh military campaigns.
In all and all, #Rohingya people were denied citizenship in Myanmar. That's where they were born and they have been living there for many years.
The world is waiting and the Muslims community is waiting for Aung San to put an end to this continuous killing of innocent people.
I am also asking "When will Aung San Suu Kyi speak out against the violence and suffering in Burma?"
