Just as Nigerians are still reeling in shock over the Bomb blast that occurred in the nation’s capital, Abuja killing 21 people and injuring over 50, another blast has recorded in the Apapa area of Lagos.
According to a reliable source, the Apapa explosion occurred at the Folawiyo fuel tank farm, located on Creek Road at about 8:30pm as the blast affected four buildings,
including two banks.
Aside the damages caused by the blast, it was gathered that not less than four people were feared dead.
A source said a female suicide bomber dressed in ‘jalabia’ drove a car “wired with bomb” into the premises of the tank farm, but could not get to the plant itself before the bomb laden car detonated. There are however no immediate
confirmation for this.
However, at the same time this was happening, another car also wired with bomb was said to have rammed under a trailer parked outside the compound, the source said.
The source said the first explosion was meant to be a distraction, while the female suicide bomber in the other car was driving into the compound to detonate the bomb.
Although, Lagos state government officials have dismissed claims that it is a bomb blast, a witness at the scene said
emphatically: “It is a bomb.
“We were all scared as we heard the explosion and saw smoke everywhere, the source said.
The police anti-bomb squad are said to have arrived the scene of the blast.”
