'I love you': Chilling last words of brother to the sister he impregnated and tortured for years as he's hauled off to prison

Locked up: Edmund Bobby Ho, 30, was sentenced to 16 years to life in prison for kidnapping and torturing his half sister, with whom he was in a relationship. He told her 'I love you' before he was led away
  • Edmund Bobby Ho, 30, was sentenced to 16 years to life for kidnapping and repeatedly beating his half-sister, Sophia Parker, 27
  • Parker, who had been brought up by adoptive parents, found her brother after high school and started writing to him when he was in prison
  • When he was released, she moved to be with him and they became intimate
  • While pregnant with his child - who she later put up for adoption - he started beating her and the torture continued for years
  • Last December, he held her captive for days and broke her ribs, nose and eye socket, and doctors were not sure she'd survive
  • A man who pleaded guilty to kidnapping the half-sister he impregnated and tortured for years turned to her before he was hauled away to prison this week and said: 'I love you.'
Edmund Bobby Ho's final proclamation stunned Las Vegas District Judge Douglas Herndon, who sentenced the 30-year-old man to 16 years to life in prison on Tuesday.
'If you love this woman - I don't mean to be cute - but you sure have a funny way of showing it,' the judge told Ho, the Las Vegas Review Journal reported.
The court had seen graphic photographs of the injuries that Ho had inflicted on his sister, Sophia Parker, 27, following just one spate of beatings at a Las Vegas motel last December.

Parker, who gave the Las Vegas Review Journal permission to name her, was raised by an adoptive family in Hawaii and found Ho while researching her biological family when she was a teenager.
The pair share a mother but have different fathers.
Ho was incarcerated in a Nevada prison for drug possession at the time but they exchanged letters for two years before he was released in 2009.
At that time, she moved from Hawaii to Las Vegas and their relationship quickly turned intimate.
