Buhari To Dominate World Economic Forum In South Africa
Cape Town, South Africa tomorrow, the man who would dominate discussions
certainly is the new President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.
At the event expected to draw 1,250 delegates from 75 countries to the Cape Town International Convention Centre, venue of the proceedings, one thing that would occupy their minds would be how Nigeria’s new leader would solve the myriad of problems confronting Africa’s biggest country and economy.
They would want to know how Buhari is going to tackle the many chronic problems bedeviling the nation.
The economic forum will deliberate on Nigeria’s economic woes such as fuel crisis, payment of civil servants by government and the menace of the terrorist group, Boko Haram, which Buhari has given commitment to deal with and aroused optimism by reorganising the military’s command structure and vowing to step up the fight against insurgency.
Among the panelists who would be moderating on one of the subjects of discussion, “Silencing the Gun,” is a Nigerian human-rights activist, Hafsat Abiola-Costello, who would surely be bombarded with questions about Nigeria’s new president and his government.
