The protection of properties and to serve with integrity slogan of the The Nigerian Police force has really been rejuvenated back to life since the new President Mohammodu Buhari mounted authority. My opinion.
According to report reaching us, The Nigerian police force announced the rescue of a 100-year-old Hawwau Amarea, who was abducted by gunmen at Kudin village of Mahuta local government area of Kebbi state.
Bala Hassan, the assistant inspector-general of police, made the disclosure on June 4, Thursday, in Sokoto, Daily Post reports.
He said that the elderly woman was rescued by the operatives attached to the new anti-kidnap squad set up to arrest those involved in the nefarious act. The police officer revealed that the kidnappers had demanded for N10m ransom.
“Part of the money was made available and was taken to a point where they were supposed to collect it. The police then swung into action and rescued the old woman after a gun battle with the kidnappers,” he added.
“We are battle-ready to prevent any form of crimiality in our areas of jurisdiction,” he stressed.
The police officer called on local residents to help the police by giving intelligence report that would help them and other security agencies to discharge their primary assignment diligently.
Hassan also called on the sultanate council of Sokoto and traditional rulers in Kebbi and Zamfara in sensitising the people to the need to be security conscious.
