The social justice Activist Angela Uyi Made this call via the social media she says "Let's also give more attention to the states owing workers salaries as much as we are giving to Maina, others and see if these irresponsible governors will not sit up."
She further commented on the recent suicide recorded in the country so far "People are dying everyday of hunger, society is birthing more criminals and the governors are comfortable because citizens gaze is on the federal government only." she said.
Many people had since been criticing Senator Dino Melaye on the stunt he placed forward at the plenary.
But Angela Uyi made reference to it.
Just yesterday, Senator Dino Melaye "who represents Kogi West Senatorial district went on his knees to beg his colleagues to save the people of Kogi state as they are currently in perilous times. He told his colleagues that civil servants in the state are being owed many months salaries."
"He made reference to the director in the state civil service, Edward Soje, who was owed 11 months salary and recently committed suicide after his wife of 17 years welcomed a set of male triplets. "
Dino also made reference to the viral video of an elder couple weeping over the loss of their child who required medical attention that they could not afford because the man is being owed many months salary.
Dino called for an intervention from President Buhari and his colleagues.
"This is not only about Kogi State but every other state involved.
Please, I am begging all media activists, commentators and others to join in calling out docile and irresponsible State governors condemning this evil and demonic act and demands for immediate payment of salaries backlogs. We can do it because we are more than them." she said.
Let's spend our time defending the vulnerable and not the criminal political, Judicial and public office holders in Nigeria. They have stolen so much and can afford to defend themselves in the Court of law while the common man has worked so much yet, no reward for labour."
