OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT BUHARI.
GENERAL ALKALI DESERVE JUSTICE!!!
Mr President sir, I humbly write to you with the highest respect to your exalted office, am profoundly reluctant to write this letter because I know there are those it will wound deeply due to their parochial interests, after selfless service to his country gen. Alkali deserved justice and not spitting on his grave.
When the perpetrators commit the crime they're of sound mind, they're not underage and gen. Alkali didn't in anyway provoked them, his only crime is being a Muslim and a victim of ethno religious attack.
Therefore the offenders should be properly punish to discourage and deter them or any other person from such future wrong doing or act. Accordingly, laws should be used to maximise the psychological well being of the society not unleashing anxiety to them, by granting bail to the suspected killers that organized and coordinated the murders of countless people along Jos to Abuja express way is a way of saying they should go back to the killing ground to continue with their unlawful activities while they are still lawfully going to court. What surprised many observers is the fact that people with lesser crime are behind bars and denied bail, I'm now convinced that their sponsors can't afford to see them in jail.
This is a clear encouragement of criminal activities as the case of the killers of gen. Alkali is given preferential treatment over and above others. These people are trained and professional killers that does the bidding of their highly placed politicians, since their arrest and exposure the people travelling from Abuja to Jos no longer experience unnecessary killing along that road, with their release we shall continue to live in perpetual fear of attack.
With increasing frequency, perverted politically drafted men are committing heinous crimes in the country. Our people is at risk once again, no matter the age. The ordeal of of the Alkali Family, who was gruesomely murdered in Jos Plateau State, bears a troubling resemblance to that of other motorists who were killed along that road. It is disturbing that the authorities are treating the phenomenon with levity, instead of moving in concert to eradicate it.
Bluntly put the point of this is that in order for justice to truly be justice, a trial needs not only to be fair, just and unbiased, but it is of the essence that these essential ingredients are also seen to be fair, just and unbiased in all ramifications. This single action have challenge the very foundation of justice to the late gen. Alkali and in Nigeria at large.
Kaduna state in the past also experienced recurrences of this kind of unGodly act with that negative history the people recently unleashed another terror but with the swiftness of action and strategic approach the governor silenced and bury that ugly and heinous activities for good, we therefore demand same and even more aggressive move for peace to flourish.
Mr president people are once again thrown into perpetual confusion as we fear that rampant killings and disappearance of people especially motorists along federal road may soon resume as the professional and trained killers are done with their short vacation and are released on bail, by every legal sense dangerous people don't deserve the luxury of bail.
It is not an exaggeration to assert that It is inevitable necessity and absolute indispensability that law and order is impossible without concerted efforts to implement extant laws, rules and regulations and punish offenders to serve as deterrence.
We demand that justice should be allowed to take its course without necessary interference? The truth is that in this conflict, our government lacks the courage to expose and punish all the perpetrators to serve as lasting solution to this ugly menace exemplify by granting of bail to these criminals by an organ of this government is the height of leniency and exposed the extent to which this unprecedented savage act have been tolerated.
Mr president this set of criminals are really politically empowered which prove that the act is perpetrated by well organized and coordinated people, they are even shielding by the community to kill people and dump inside a dirty pond where the general's car and other state owned commercial transport vehicles are found. Even though they are quick to dismiss it, it remains incontrovertible that their refusal to punish the perpetrators for repeatedly blocking federal road is essentially informed by their support for the ethnic cleansing. They commit this holocaust repeated times without number, along the federal road that link many states from and to Abuja is where motorists usually met their early deaths.
Finally this condemnable act of barbarism and cruelty of the highest order most not be allowed to return as releasing the perpetrators is likely to emboldened them to commit more, and to avoid a scenario where the aggrieved people from other state may start emulating them by blocking their roads and dragging people of particular ethnic group or religion affiliations from their cars as they do here on the plateau as a form of reprisals, their bail should be unanimously revoke. Because if a highly placed and respected military general can be killed by these same people, we don't longer feel safe and comfortable with them in the society, they should remain behind bars.
