Leicester City players celebrate after clinching the first EPL title
Leicester City have won their first Premier League title to complete a remarkable fairytale story in what is one of the greatest sporting stories of all time following nearest challengers Tottenham’s inability to secure the win they required at Chelsea in the London Derby.
Tottenham however have themselves to blame letting a two-goal first half lead courtesy strikes from Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son slip as Gary Cahill and Eden Hazard levelled scores for Chelsea in the second half for a 2-2 draw.
Leicester would have been declared champions in their game against Manchester United at the Old Trafford on Sunday; but the party was postponed because of their 1-1 draw with the Red Devils.
Meanwhile, the point takes Tottenham to 70 points and seven points adrift of Leicester City (77 points), which is unassailable, with just six points and two games left to fight for. Dethroned champions Chelsea currently occupy 9th spot with 48 points on the log.
