Two traditional rulers in Kebbi state have come under intense fire from the state governor over criminal practices.
The Kebbi state governor, Atiku Bagudu, has set up a seven-man committee, which will investigate allegation of criminal activities against two traditional rulers in the state.

According to The Leadership, the chief of Fakai, Alhaji Hudu Dan-Mallam, and his counterpart from Danko Wasagu, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim, were accused of rudeness, dishonesty, conniving with kidnappers and armed robbers.
Alhaji Sani Sami, the Emir of Zuru, had earlier issued the two traditional rulers with a query, while administrators of their local governments had suspended them from office.

According to a statement issued by Alhaji Babale Yauri, the secretary to the state government, on Tuesday, November 10, the committee was given two weeks to conduct the investigation and present its results in the report.

The committee chaired by Alhaji Sani Aliyu, a former deputy governor of the state, also includes representatives of the state security service, police, Zuru, Gwandu and Yauri emirate councils as well as Alhaji Alhassan Dugu, the director of Inspectorate Services, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, who would serve as a secretary.
