These are Scaring
facts that would shock you beyond reasonable doubt. Never have I thought of writing on this topic
because I always thought that no one is ignorant of these deadly diseases, unwanted pregnancies and
some others which could be contacted through unprotected sex by our teenagers
and adults. Ever wondered why when the issue on sex and the use of condoms is
raised many seem to act in a despicable manner making the interviewer to start
having the feelings as though she is not supposed to be asking a Reverence
father if he uses condoms. Most people get too spiritual about this and many
teens are too scared of discussing these issues with adults. What should the
teens do when the adults who are in the best position to educate the Teenagers
are behaving like young virgins where as they are the cause of this predicament
our teens are suffering?
My
supervisor approached me to have my research and a survey on HIV/AIDS
I was glad to handle that and I major my topic
on the use of Condoms and teens. It’s amazing. Did you know that people sees it
as a stigma to approached a pharmacy and demand for condoms? So this afternoon,
I went to a big store and I walked straight to a male attendant and Asked with
a loud voice "please, can I get a pack of Durex condom? Everyone paused
and stared at me. I was so perplexed with the irrational look of their facial
expressions so I asked them with a louder voice “did I startle you all? Jeez I
ain't no alien just running a research. They smiled and I told the guy that I
wasn't buying no condoms and I explained that I needed some vital information
on HIV AIDS AND TEENS and how frequent do people buys condoms.
Some people in this part of the country see sex as something
sort of evil or bad. Maybe that’s why some people usually find it shameful to
buy condoms in a store...I don't think there's any religious book in this world
that was actually against sexual intercourse and that was written was
premarital sex.
As far as this
research work is concern, I haven’t seen any book where it is written and there
is no part in any religious book that says missionary style is the only way you
can have sex...
The scenario at the super store it was a crazy scenario
indeed I wish I had a cam to record the impressions people gave me as if they
were all virgins. That's just a crazy and a life of lies most people are living
if they are big enough to engage in sex they should be big enough to protect
themselves against numerous diseases and unwanted pregnancy.
Even if I was a woman who has already had 3kids made the
statement, they would still have such weird impressions on their faces like all
of them are still virgins.... But why?
I am of the
opinion most Nigerians need good orientation about protecting themselves not
only from diseases... Even birth control or unwanted pregnancy which might lead
to cases of abortion and Ovarian Cancer and infertility
Does the name CONDOM comes with a stigma or it’s
just too big for people to call or buy? Or they don’t want the pharmacy
attendant or supper store attendant to know
that they have started having sex even when it’s obvious and the best
option is to just do it the way their pride can contain. What nonsense? Many
are so ashamed of buying condoms and their boyfriends or hubbies preferred to
do it natural. He won’t use Condoms, You use Pills… why? Is it because he wants
it natural? Think of HIV AIDS, think of ovarian cancer, and infertility.
He gets you Pregnant; you went for an abortion
why?
He is not ready. Like seriously? Wake up girl.
When you try to listen to people's stories you
would find out that those little things we are ignoring would turn around to be
our greatest nightmares.

QUICK FACTS
Do you know someone who has
AIDS? Or maybe you've heard about a celebrity who has it? Here are some quick
facts:
·
AIDS is caused by a virus called HIV.· If you've got AIDS, your body finds it harder and harder to fight off infections.
· The most common way to get AIDS is by having sex with someone who has it. But there are other ways, too.
How do people get HIV?
People get HIV by contact
with body fluids that come from someone who has it. For example, you can get
AIDS in these ways:
·
Oral, vaginal, or anal sex without using a
condom.
·
Injecting illegal drugs with a needle that
has also been used by someone infected with HIV.· Using the same needle as someone with HIV when you get a tattoo.
How can I avoid getting HIV or unwanted pregnacy?
The best way to avoid
getting HIV is to not have sex. If you do have sex, you can protect yourself
with these steps:
· Abtainance
·
Always
use a condom when having sex.
·
Only have sex with one person who you know is
not infected.
·
Do not use alcohol or drugs. That way you can
make smart choices based on clear thinking.
Activities like hugging,
kissing, and rubbing against one another don't spread HIV as long as there are
no open sores being touched. Also, you can't give yourself HIV by masturbating.
Some other things to know about catching AIDS:
· The body fluids that contain the highest concentration
of HIV are blood, semen, vaginal fluid, breast milk, and other fluids that
contain blood.
·
You can't catch it from casual contact like
you can a cold or the flu.
·
Holding hands or touching someone's skin
won't cause you to get the virus.
·
Sharing a drinking glass with someone does
not spread the virus.
·
Open mouth (French) kissing is very low risk
for getting the virus unless there are open sores in the mouth or there is blood
present
“The virus is destroying our farms,
schools and churches and that is why we will continue to partner organizations
who are providing services to the infected and affected in the state.”
Fellow Nigerians, the graphical
representation of the state with the highest rate of HIV/AIDS in Nigeria should
be something worth discussing and while discussing it, we shouldn’t forget how
it is contacted and what we should do to prevent these deadly diseases from terrorizing
our Innocent people. You should try to put aside your socio-political
differences and join forces against the virus in the country, you must put
aside our socio-political differences and stand up against the virus, so that
our people will be able to lead a normal live.
While discussing this with a close friend,
he told me that no one will gladly invite deadly diseases into their lives or
take glory in having abortion and below is what he had to say:
This women that goes around aborting and killing innocent children that
never ask to be born before their time is due are inevitably Heartless, Bold
and preposterous. They early never had the thoughts of getting pregnant before
ignorantly separating their legs for pleasure to play it role in intimate
immorality. Now they are pregnant, they are shy of walking around province with
big belly to avoid being mocked. They go for abortion regardless of the risk
involve, their prospect is to live and kill the baby but unfortunately for
them, not all have the chance to survive. Fate catches up with them, yet many
are ignorant of this fact as they still carry out the act that brought about
the cause of an abortion. I don’t see any means on how we can ease this
abortion something by enforcing any kind of body to go round hospitals to
inspect doctors and nurses who carry out abortion for their clients. Yes, let
us not also forget that many of the ladies who go for abortion are affronted, violated and rapped by some
heartless road side thugs and which they get pregnant. You know several
things will run in her minds like, what kind of a baby do I have in my womb? How
can I give birth to a child that I don’t know what he or she will turn out to be?
It is crazy and absurd to see such insanity. But despite that, abortion
shouldn’t be an option, it is better the baby dies during birth then it is
certain that the child is never for you than for you to abort. It makes you a
murderer. You can imagine the vast number of woman that died in abortion.
The only way I know it can be control is by organizing a forum for youth males and females and educate them on things they really need to know about why they should exit such preposterous things such as intimate immorality, intimate relationship and Indecency. If the youth can be well educated in these three aspects, abortion will be eased.

I also took the privilege to talk about it on my Facebook book page and
here are few people’s views:

But does that mean we shouldn’t advice those who engaged in such not to use a
condom? Even the married who cheats on their spouse? Why can’t they use
condoms? HIV AIDS is a respecter of nobody if u can’t abstain then why not use
condoms I am not preaching not writing religious epistles but writing facts
everyone are so ashamed of. thanks for your opinion it count @Val P·

Iam so elated in seeing this update, for it concern in the use and importance
of CONDOM in pre-marital and marital sexual intercourse...
And also the stressing point of people wanting it natural without reckoning that HIV/AIDS wants more candidate..

I, as a minister of God, encourage the use of condom among married couples for
birth control but for the singles, total abstinence is the best oooooooooo

Pweety Grace My dear
is very necessary to talk about it, most time we act too spiritual and forget
we are human.
It is hard to overemphasize the trauma and hardship that children ... are
forced to bear. ... As parents and family members become ill, children take on
more responsibility to earn an income, produce food, and care for family
members. ... More children have been orphaned by AIDS in Nigeria than anywhere
else. Many children are now raised by their extended families and some are even
left on their own in child-headed households. ...
As access to
treatment is slowly expanded throughout the country, millions of lives are
being extended and hope is being given to people who previously had none.
Unfortunately though, the majority of people in need of treatment are still not
receiving it, and campaigns to prevent new infections ... are lacking in many
areas.
Let’s join
hands together as we give proper orientation to both the youth and adults
Nigeria is
still the second highest in Africa of HIV/AIDS
- people living with HIV/AIDS with 3,300,000.00 after South Africa which is 5,
6000,000.00
Take-Away Tips About AIDS
- Never have sex without using a condom.
- Do not use illegal drugs or get tattoos with unclean needles.
- If you think you may be infected with AIDS, see a doctor right away.
What would you do when your children
find out that you would have been able to profer solution and a preventive measures but you didn’t?
How often do you stop and advise?
Ask yourself such questions.
