Wande coal definitely has a back-up plan for when the current wave of disposable music ceases to thrive, and it more than shows on this song which sees him dabble into previously uncharted territory, one of the signs of his new found maturity and identity since severing musical ties with Mavin Records and Don Jazzy.
‘Plan B‘, which comes off as a flawless RnB song, sees Wande coal passionately pleading with a girl (Halima) to leave her partner and come be with him, promising to satisfy all her needs.
With his overt foray into the commercial club anthem-like songs in recent times, it is very easy to forget that WC has the vocal/composition ability to churn out a fluid RnB track.
Maleek Berry’s production certainly made the job quite easy for the Black diamond, as he rarely strayed away from the script of the instrumental throughout the song duration.
As decent and effortless as his delivery was, the average flippant Nigerian music lover would hardly leave this one on repeat.
This song is for deep patient minds, romantics and lovers, which makes it apt to be released during the Valentine season.
Final verdict: Wande takes a step backwards, albeit a necessary and timely one, in order to show his peers the possibility of what could be.
