ESTEEM
YOURSELF
Esteeming yourself does not mean you are a proud person
rather self esteem and self-efficacy is flip sides of the same coin of
personality. You can genuinely like and respect yourself only when you know,
deep inside your heart, that you are really good at what you do. Every little
thing that you do in one excellent fashion boosts your esteem and makes you
better about yourself. “Everybody have challenges”- Helen Mustapha. There is no
one without challenges. It is your ability to convert those challenges to
opportunities that makes you a courageous person. No matter what life brings
always be happy you are not the carrier of the world’s challenges and
circumstances. The fact is that it is impossible for you to be truly happy and
be successful until you know in your heart that you are very, very good at what
you do. When you have this consciousness in you, you must resolve to overcome
any obstacle, pay any price, go any length to achieve this level of excellent.
SELF
APPRAISAL
A philosopher once said “an unexamined life is not worth
living” to be a leader you must first have the qualities of leadership.
You should examine your everyday life. Challenge your
ability and set a target for yourself. Write out those things you would want to
achieve in a month those big things you would want to have if you do not have
any constrain. Set a goal to be among the top 10 performance in whatever you
do. Compare performances with results. Appraise yourself from a scale of 1 to
10.
Be indispensible in your company, at home, any group you
find yourself. Reflect your inner thought to people to see and behave in such
way to you as you think within you.
The law of indirect effort has two principles according to
Brian ‘Ascribed power’ and the ‘position power’. Ascribed power is the power
you gain because of the kind of person you are in every organization. They are
people who are inordinately influential and looked up to by others, even though
their positions may not be high up on the organization chart. They are the
people who have a vision and everything they do reflect all over them. Such
people their vision will direct them to their destination without going off
course.
