Few things can help an individual more than to place responsibility on him, and let him know that you trust him.
To be given responsibility is, in a way, a compliment that conveys the following sentiment ... "I believe in you and trust that you can do it. In addition, I am willing to come along side you and mentor you in those unfamiliar areas." Can you think of a time in your life when someone mentored, trusted, supported and demonstrated faith in you? What impact did that have on you, your attitude, and how you felt about yourself? What a profound difference such individuals make in the lives of others! How does one adequately say thank you? Perhaps the best way to say thank you is to model the mentoring for someone else in need.
