Angela Uyi Calls for the immediate release of Comr Ibrahim Garba Wala, condemns illegal detention
The convener of Project11, Angela Uyi had on Friday 6th January, 2017 made the call for the immediate release of Comrade Ibrahim Garba Wala popularly known as IG Wala Who was arrested and detained unjustly by the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja via her pupoplar Facebook page. Says "the anti corruption war is gradually becoming a joke and cosmetic."
Read her lengthy post below...
On the alleged Corruption in Hajj Commission that was linked to the Chairman. N4.1billion was asked to be refunded to Pilgrims thanks to the whistle brew by IG Wala. The call for refunds to pilgrims is a proof that the alleagtion was right and the documents made public which exposed so much corrupt issues in NAHCON.
The Federal Government that promised to fight corruption watched the Hajj Chairman in collaboration with Jazbank sue IG Wala to court. As if that was not enough, Hajj Chairman is using the Nigeria Police Force as a puppet to ensure this young Whistleblower is denied freedom.
The only question left unanswered, is the government truly fighting corruption or they are only fighting corrupt oppositions?
I am writing this with full responsibility and without intimidation that the fight against corruption have been cosmetic thus far.
The arrest of a young Nigerian who by his effort exposed corrupt practices in NACHON to the tune of billions of naira without asking for 5% or recognition from the government is one of the political suicide committed by this government and its machinery.
We, the poor, angry, vexed, frustrated and common Nigerians are not asking for too much but for the Nigerian Police Force led by the Inspector General of Police Idris Ibrahim to order the immediate release of Comrade Ibrahim Garba Wala forthwith and unconditionally.
We are law abiding citizens and we are all fighting for the betterment of the people.
I will therefore call on well meaning Nigerians, to lend their voice and call for the immediate release of IG Wala.
A threat to freedom of one man is a threat to freedom of everyone.
#FreeIGWala Now!
