The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, yesterday said the Federal Government has spent over N1 Billion on Ekwueme’s burial arrangements.
He boastfully stated that all the roads leading to Oko community in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State have been given facelifts in readiness for the burial of the late Second Republic Vice President, Dr Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme on Friday without thinking what the reaction of Nigerians will be.
His careless statement had since stirred the hornets nest of anger in the country
A Facebook commentator Mark asked "Why can't Federal govt spend that money on infratructure on oko community where there's almost no electricity round the year, why wasting money on the dead, ekweme Family is rich to give the man befitting burial:Don't worry one day people like you are going to be stone to death in this country."
